General Tips

1. Create a marketing plan! 1-2 Weeks in advance, utilize:

  • Facebook Event

  • Fliers in Residence/Dining Halls

  • Weekly emails/news letters to residents

  • Hall Meetings/Public Announcements

  • Your Network! Encourage friends and colleagues to spread the word!

2. Have a takeaway for attendees! Whether it's something tangible, a new skill, piece of information, or opportunity, make sure residents are glad they came to your program! Acheive this through:

  • Participation Prizes/Treats

  • Prepared leaflets/materials

  • Guided discussion or reflection

3.  Reflect on your program! Ask attendees and coordinators to evaluate their experience. Use this information to:

  • Tell the region so others can replicate your program!

  • Improve on your program! Do it again, do it better!

REMEMBER: The success of a program is not determined by the amount of people who attend it!!!
